Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 (known internally as Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory 2, not to be confused with Megadimension Neptunia VII) is the fourth game in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. It follows Neptune on her quest to find four memory fragments to unseal her keys and restoire Histoire.
Development
The game was created in 1 month (actually 27 days) by Tsunako alone. Development began while Compile Heart's offices were closed for summer vacation, and nobody was commuting to work because they were closed. However, 1 month (actually 27 days) before the production deadline, Tsunako realized that Re;Birth1 was set to release in 3 months, and the production deadline was in 1 month (actually 27 days). Alone, she broke into the office and began work on the game. The game engine was made by reusing the engine from Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory and all the assets were pulled from either Victory or Mk2. The soundtrack is also almost entirely pulled from Victory, as series composer Kenji Kaneko was in a coma during the entire month (actually 27 days) of development.
Reception
Re;Birth1 was greeted with massive critical acclaim on launch. All major (and minor) game reviewers concede that Re;Birth1 is a must-have for any gamer's collection. It has a spot in all top 10 video games lists, and in all top 10 lists by WatchMojo. A factory sealed copy of Re;Birth1's collector edition (Japanese edition) in mint condition is on display in the Louvre Museum. Re;Birth1 is actually the best game ever made, which has been confirmed by NASA. It is the second best-selling game of all time, snugly in between Final Fantasy VII and Cheetahmen II. This of course makes it the best-selling game created by Compile Heart. According to Compile Heart's president, Moo Niitani, "It's amazing, it just prints money. Thanks to Tsunako, I don't have to live on cup ramen anymore, now I eat 5 star meals every day."
Remake
Since Re;Birth1 is universally known to be godlike, Compile Heart decided to remake it in 2018 as Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+. The remake was announced on February 6, a day after development started. Development was finished 3 days later, and the game reached store shelves on May 31. The remake is actually identical to the original Re;Birth1, however the resolution has been increased by 15 pixels. Like its predecessor, Re;Birth1+ recieved rave reviews.

Re-remake
A port of Re;Birth1+ for the Playstation 5 called Neptunia re☆Verse was released in 2020 in Japan and worldwide in 2021.
Trivia
- Despite being the fourth game in the series, Re;Birth1 is actually a direct sequel to Mk2.
- This is the only game in the series where Compa says "Desu!" when the voices are set to English.
- This game is the only game in the series that gave enough of a shit about worldbuilding to actually include NPCs other than makers. Technically, Hyperdimension Neptunia did that too, but it gets points off for not even bothering to give them portraits.
