Cave (ケイブ) is a maker introduced in Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2. She represents Cave Co. Ltd, the video game company famous for making some of the most difficult bullet hell shmups known to man.
Trivia
Her EXE drive, Black Label, is a reference to Cave's Black Label series of game revisions, which they released for most of their shmups. Black Label revisions feature several gameplay and mechanic changes, ranging from minor to major, and of course the signature black title screen. The attack animation itself is similar to an attack pattern from a bullet hell as well as summoning golden bees that are likely references to Hibachi, the final boss of Dodonpachi.
Cave's appearance appears to be inspired by Deathsmiles, one of Cave's shmups, which is an odd choice as their flagship franchise is Dodonpachi, not Deathsmiles.
Most of Cave's shmups that were released during the Xbox 360's lifetime ended up being ported to the Xbox 360, hence Cave's association with Leanbox. However, most of their games are not actually on Xbox.
