Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, or Hyperdimension Neptunia V (Victory) for long, is the game where nothing happens but exists because... because.
This game is called Divine Dimension Game Neptune V in Japan but for no apparent reason they kept it as Hyperdimension in English, as opposed to Divine Dimension Neptunia Victory, despite the game not taking place in Hyperdimension (or "Divine Dimension" either, for that matter).
Plot
Wanna hear a joke? This game's plot.
The plot is as much as Blanc's boobs.
Neptune falls in another dimension that kinda looks like hers. In this dimension to become a CPU people have to eat a thing called CPU Memory but if you're not fit to be they become a monster.
Rei Ryghts also known as "who-knows-how-she-deserved-to-be-a-CPU" has no social life and she despises the CPUs so she thinks to destroy the world is okay since she has nothing better to do. Anonydeath should have been the main villain.
Neptune eats pudding.
Characters
Neptune
Neptune likes pudding and differently from HDN1/Re;Birth1 she has nothing good as a character.
Plutia
Plutia is the worst person in the world and she didn't have any merit to become a CPU but she did anyways.
Noire
The Noire of this dimension. She's actually very different from the other Noire but no one cares and they think of them as the same character. All she does is work hard and play the straight man for the entire game.
Blanc
The Blanc of this dimension. The only thing that is different about her compared to the other Blanc is her love for Plutia.
Vert
The Vert of this dimensions. She's a bit different from the other Vert but unfortunately, just like the other Vert, her personality is the opposite of her boobs in terms of size.
Nepgear
Poor punching bag. She's such a punching bag even Nepgear beats down on her.
Peashy
A little brat but she's stronger than anyone in this game.
Histoire
The Histoire of this dimension, with the special ability to get "Pissty". Also notable for being very smol, even more smol than usual.
Croire
The most relevant antagonist but she has like 2 minutes of screentime. She likes to watch everyone suffering.
Seven Sages
The antagonist crew. A group of seven textbook villains that get together for no reason other than out of habit. They dont even like each other that much.
Rei Ryghts
Some girl that should see a therapist.
Anonydeath
A wizard, an hacker, able to repair robots and supports his comrades but for some reason not the main antagonist. A stalker who should calm down.
Copypaste
A robot who has more friends than any character in this game. He's too loud.
Warechu
The Warechu from this dimension. He's different from the other Warechu but no one cares.
Arfoire
Again? Seriously.
Fun fact: Arfoire and Warechu's friendship in this game is kinda a rip-off of the other dimension's Warechu and Underling.
Mr. Badd
A bizarrely out of place old fart. He fights with a robot suit that spawns only when the battle is starting.
Abnes
She's a whiny brat.
Trivia
- This game has a strange obsession with the word "victory." Neptune even learns a skill called Victory Slash.
- The peace sign resembles the letter V, which means victory. See? There it is again!
- To be fair, "Divine Dimension Neptunia Victory" actually sounds like shit.
- "Divine Dimension" is the Japanese name for Ultradimension. So this game actually should have been called Ultradimension Neptunia Victory. Or, better yet, Ultradimension Plutia.
